It is not funny when you're searching for diamonds in India and you get trapped in the time of celebrations of 'pooja' and find people praying to Goddess Durga, to celebrate 'Vijaya dashmi', the victory of good over evil, of the defeat of Raavan the 'rakshas' by Ram.
Sure, there are many beliefs and tales and stories, so many traditions followed and spread out to all parts of the country, and certainly, diamonds in India are not easily found when you get distracted by various ceremonies and traditions there.
So where is the gold mind if you're searching for further jewelry? Don't just stand there and get confused as Raavan was burnt today, and in an effigy of monstrous size, there's no diamond that you can find there. Don't offend Indians by disrupting their rejoice in the middle of the festivities.
And either, don't hope for the singing and the mass dancing to be over, that you can sneak in through the crowd preparing for Divali the festival of lights in early November, just to find where the diamond is. You are not Indiana Jones who could jump on the desk in Indonesian's bureaucracy office.
In earlier times not so many people would like to be heroes because there were no inspiring movies with such flashbacks and no diamonds which were easily found. Today, much you can see Bollywood glitter brilliantly under the spotlights. You can't cry hard enough for the melodrama? Skip it and go search for any other Indian priceless asset.
So where can you find diamonds in India? It's really hard to find ones in the ruin after tsunami.
